Authors Guide

First: Accepted Materials for Publication

  • The International Journal of Library Sciences and Information publishes sound scientific research that adheres to the methodology and procedures of scientific research and represents new contributions to knowledge in the area of libraries, information, and documents.
  • The International Journal of Library and Information Sciences accepts research in Arabic, English, and French that has never been published before.
  • The journal publishes research translations, book reviews scientific dissertations, reports, and follow-ups on conferences, symposiums, and academic activities related to the field of specialization, taking into account the approvals of the relevant authorities by the scientific rules regulating this.

Second: Publishing standards

  • Research should be genuine, should be of interest to the magazine, and should not be published or accepted for publication in any periodicals or other publication outlets.
  • The research must be consistent with the standards of scientific integrity and ethics of scientific research.
  • The research must be linguistic integrity, and punctuation accuracy must be observed.
  • Citations must be prepared according to a specific criterion: the American Psychological Association (APA Style), to be included at the end of the research
  • All research is subject to a preliminary examination by the editorial board; to ensure that it conforms to the journal's publishing rules and conforms to editorial and publishing policies.
  • Research submitted for publication is subject to scientific arbitration by research experts.
  • A short curriculum vitae is provided to the researcher in Arabic and English, accompanied by a search.
  • The researcher must attach a pledge that the research (new) had not been published or accepted for publication in any other journal, nor had it been submitted for publication in another entity at the same time until the arbitration procedures are completed, If it was presented at a conference, this is explicitly stated in the pledge.
  • The research is arranged in the journal according to technical considerations related to the journal's policy and the nature of the topics within the published issue, which have nothing to do with the researcher's scientific or literary standing.
  • The journal notifies the author - by an official letter from the editorial board - of the decision to publish and the date of publication if it is accepted, and the journal is not obligated to mention the justification for not publishing.
  • Please note that the publication of the journal means that it is available in any database or digital repository without prior approval from the researcher. By the standards of the Scientific Publishing Ethics Committee, (COPE).

Third: Research Content Criteria

  • The first page of the research must include the title of the research and the abstract in the language in which the research is written - within the limits of 250 to 350 words, and the keywords so that they do not exceed five words expressing the areas covered by the research.
  • The author's current name and his current job are mentioned immediately after the title of the research in the final version of the research, which is also mentioned in the foreign abstract.
  • When writing the research, one should take into account not to mention the name of the researcher explicitly in the text of the research, or to put any indication that reveals his identity.
  • The study must observe the rules of the language in which it is written, and, in the event of linguistic comments, they are linguistically reviewed by the journal.
  • Research and studies are sent to referees from the professors of the specialty to review their suitability for publication, and in the event of amendments to the referees' reports, the author is obligated to make the required amendments and provide the editorial board with a modified version within a period not exceeding two weeks.

Fourth: Technical production and coordination standards for research

The following conditions must be carefully observed when writing the final version of the research to be published in the journal:

  • The size of the Word page must be the size of A4, and the outer margins of the page should be of the four sides of 2.5 cm.
  • The title of the research must be written in PT Bold Heading font, size 14 Bold
  • After the title, the name of the researcher, the job title, and the e-mail address must be written in Simplified Arabic font, size 12.
  • The main titles in the research must be written in PT Bold Heading font, size 13 Bold, and the subtitles must be written in Simplified Arabic font, size 12 Bold.
  • The internal text of the research must be written in Simplified Arabic font for Arabic texts and Times New Roman font for English texts, size 12.
  • The distance between the lines of the research paragraphs must be 1.0 cm.
  • Tables, figures, illustrations, photographs, and maps must be clear and have clear names, and must not exceed the margins specified for the research.
  • The pages of the research, including the pages of drawings, appendices, tables, and footnotes, must be given serial numbers from the beginning of the research to the end.
  • The titles of tables, figures, illustrations, photographs, and maps should be written in Simplified Arabic font, size 10 Bold, so that the title is written below the figures, pictures, illustrations, and maps, except for tables, where the title is above the table.

Fifth: Publication fees

Publication fees in the journal are calculated as follows:

  • The researcher pays the arbitration fees of (600 pounds) immediately after sending the research through the association's account at the National Bank of Egypt, where the payment form will be sent to the researcher via e-mail, after payment, the arbitration process begins, and the process is followed up.
  • Publication fees for research are set at (2000 pounds) - after deducting the paid arbitration fees - with a maximum of 35 pages, and when the number of pages exceeds 35 pages, each page is calculated at (60 pounds), and the number of pages is estimated based on the journal's template, and fees for Arab researchers are calculated at (400 dollars) per research.
